Insider Look: Living in a Luxury Streeterville Apartment
Packed with gleaming high-rise buildings, Chicago’s Streeterville neighborhood often ends up being the first impression for many tourists and future residents. They walk through the streets heading toward Navy Pier and Lake Michigan, often stopping to take photos of the surrounding architecture. No matter the season, Streeterville apartments are always a popular choice- from the recently renovated Atwater Apartments to the brand-new North Water Apartments above the Loews Hotel. After living in the city for four years, our Senior Broker Associate, Tristen Heimann, chose to make Streeterville his home. We asked him a few questions about his favorite local spots and living in the neighborhood.

Why did you choose Streeterville?
I chose to live in Streeterville because I love being right on the lake. Growing up surrounded by corn fields, I run and cycle a lot making the lakefront path the perfect place to provide me with the serenity and therapy that I need to be on the top of my game. Also, with its overall centrality, I’m able to walk anywhere downtown. It’s a true high-rise neighborhood and I love it.
What’s your favorite part of living in Streeterville?
The views! There are few areas where you can get a panoramic perspective of the lake, the river, and the skyline while being fully immersed in it too. Again, the easy access to the lakefront bike path is perfect for getting around to other neighborhoods without dealing with the intense urban traffic.
Which restaurant do you love visiting?
Favorite restaurant in Streeterville. Local Root. It’s a sustainable farm to table restaurant that goes to the extremes of baking all of its own bread to telling your what free-range farm your chicken came from. Very Portlandia like, and I love it!
What’s the best part of living in a luxury high-rise?
My favorite amenity in my building is the sundeck. With over 10,000sf of outdoor space that accommodates a lap pool and hot tub that has a front row seat to the fireworks, 6 private grill station cabanas, and the warming fire-pit overlooking the city skyline to close out the evening. Not too shabby for an evening after work.
