Long-Awaited Streeterville Lofts Now Available at River East
The Lofts at River East at 445 E Illinois St is now leasing brand-new Streeterville apartments, but the building was originally part of the Pugh Terminal Warehouse, which was built between 1905 and 1920. This history has set up residents to enjoy a truly unique home, from the waterfront lounge on the river to the balconies of select units featuring NanaWall folding glass wall systems.
With over 78 layouts, The Lofts at River East strays from the traditional unit mix of studio, one bedrooms, and two bedrooms by adding dens and half bathrooms. There’s a floor plan for everyone, though the luxury finishes are standard throughout. These Streeterville apartments feature hardwood maple flooring, soaring ceilings, and fully-equipped gourmet kitchens with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. Some bedrooms skip a traditional door for a sliding barn door, as seen in the slideshow below of a model two bedroom apartment. The brick and timber lofts also include: built-in USB ports, solar shade window treatments, ample closet space, and in-unit laundry rooms with side-by-side washer and dryer.
In addition to the waterfront lounge, residents can relax or entertain on the 10,000 square foot rooftop deck with a wet bar, fire pits, grills, and an outdoor theatre. The Lofts at River East checks off the amenity list with: a business center, cyber lounge, private screening room, bicycle storage, and dog wash. The fitness center takes things up a notch by offering TRX and boxing equipment, while the gaming room includes a pool table and arcade games.
On the corner of McClurg and Illinois, The Lofts at River East are two blocks from Streeterville’s new Whole Foods and walking distance to a variety of restaurants. Residents are also granted easy access to the lakefront, Michigan Avenue, Northwestern Hospital, John Hancock Center, and Navy Pier.
