It’s finally the season we’ve all been waiting for! We made a roundup of some of the best pumpkin ales, Oktoberfest beers, and delicious ciders from breweries in Chicago that you absolutely have to try. And if you’re ready to become a local at one of these spots, we’ve listed some apartment options nearby as well.

Here are the top fall beers of 2020 in the Chicago area:

Logan Square

Logan Square is home to many popular breweries in Chicago, so this neighborhood is a no-brainer when it comes to finding your favorite fall brew.

For a classic start to the season, head over to Revolution Brewing for their twist on the Oktoberfest beer.

If you’re into something a little more sweet, try the Krispie Cakes beer from Maplewood Brewery with hints of delectable marshmallow and vanilla.

The Harvest Pale Ale from Hopewell Brewing Co. is a true fall staple with its combination of resinous pine, spice, and juicy pineapple.

A big fan of ciders? Head to Pilot Project Brewing for their Overgrown Orchard Hard Coffee Cider. This cider is bursting with flavor from heirloom cider apples, including Cox’s Orange Pippin, Roxbury Russet, and Northern Spy.

Bixi Beer is also another one of our favorite Logan Square spots for a fall brew. Their Bo-Fest beer is a rich orange-colored beer with a malty body, you truly can’t go wrong with this one.

If you’re looking for a place to live around these impressive breweries, check out Logan Apartments, The Fields Lofts, or MODE.

Lakeview

Hustling and bustling Lakeview is another hotspot for some of the best seasonal brews in Chicago.

Afterburner Oktoberfest at Metropolitan Brewing boasts a wonderful combination of toasty malt aromas and a dry, elegant lager finish.

Pimped Out Ugg Boots Pumpkin Amber from DryHop Brewers offers the perfect blend of Saigon cinnamon, Jamaican allspice, clove, nutmeg and Mexican cocoa.

Corridor Brewery & Provisions brews another great Oktoberfest beer that is made even better with a pretzel and cheese on the side.

There are so many spots to live in Lakeview, but some that we suggest are Panorama, Veridian on Sheridan, and Halsted Flats.

Old Town

Filled with quaint tree-lined streets and historic architecture, this laid-back neighborhood gives off all the cozy fall vibes.

If you’re looking for a classic fall beer, get the Goose Oktoberfest from Goose Island Brewpub. This beer has notes of toasted malt and freshly baked rye bread, a mild bitterness, and a clean and crisp finish.

Another delicious s’mores inspired fall beer is the Imperial Marshmallow Stout from Off Color Brewing. This pick has the tastiest flavor combo with hints of marshmallow, vanilla beans, molasses, graham, and cocoa nibs.

Interested in living in this historic area? Check out 1250 LaSalle, K Square, or North + Vine.

West Loop

A former industrial hot spot, this hip neighborhood is full of upscale restaurants, trendy bars and niche brewpubs.

The Oaked Barmy Apricot Ale Aged in Virgin Oak from Ballast Point Brewing is a must-try when you’re in the fall mood.

If you’re looking for a classic fall beer in West Loop, try the Fest Bier from Haymarket Pub & Brewery or Oktoberfest from On Tour Brewing Company. You truly can’t go wrong with either.

Another tasty seasonal beer is Festzelt from Great Central Brewing. With a toasted aroma and a crisp, malty aftertaste, this is the perfect pick for celebrating the end of summer.

With various apartments available in West Loop, The Jax, Adams Laflin Place, and Porte have some of the best features and amenities available.
