Four Boutiques for Unique Home Décor in Chicago
Citizen Stone. If you’ve never seen a sign or a façade bearing the name Citizen Stone, you’re not alone. The recently opened Lincoln Park showroom already boasts a reputation so solid that no signage is needed. Located in an office building, Citizen Stone is quickly becoming one of the city’s best-kept secrets. Gaining popularity strictly through reputation and word of mouth, Citizen Stone is the type of place you have to be in the “know to go”. Although once you discover the location and hours of the showroom, the Citizen Stone shopping experience is anything but smoke and mirrors. An equally friendly and knowledgeable staff waits to introduce you to the store’s unique pieces and variety of European brands. If you’re looking for the perfect household gift, you’re sure to find something unique at Citizen Stone certain to please even the person who “has everything”.
Jayson Home. When it comes to furnishing a home in Chicago, luxury lifestyle brand, Jayson Home is a world-renowned emporium of wanderlust located right in our backyard. These days it’s nearly impossible to pick up a design publication without seeing pieces from the Jayson Home collection. The store’s large celebrity following and streamlined e-commerce site has the public drooling over every piece. While Jayson Home furnishes posh pads across the country and even around the world, there’s only one store location and it’s conveniently located right in Lincoln Park (and surprisingly has plenty of complimentary parking, gasp!) From custom furniture to fabulous coffee table books – oh how we love the coffee table books – Jayson Home has something for every taste and every price point.
Mecox. Mecox originally started in the village of Southampton, New York in 1996, providing a great balance for both outdoor and indoor living environments. Since then the store has expanded into several different markets such as East Hampton, Manhattan, West Palm Beach, Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston, and of course – Chicago. From furniture to art and décor, each piece is uniquely crafted and has an eclectic, worldly feel. They not only carry new home furniture and accessories, but also original antiques from a collection of national and local artists. Each of the beautiful pieces carried at Mecox will add a personal touch and provide a unique look to any home.
Classic Remix. Classic Remix originally opened in Lincoln Park circa 2011 and was voted the best new store by Chicago Magazine. Since then the furniture and home goods store has moved to the Cathedral District of Chicago and is known to be a great addition to the neighborhood. Storeowner, Mary Garvey James, has provided distinguished designs for all budgets and has brought in great new statement pieces that make any space feel luxurious.
