New Buildings Coming to the West Loop in 2016
Our 2016 New Chicago Apartment Guide provides a comprehensive overview of the 21 rental buildings opening this year. Today we’re highlighting the luxury apartment buildings opening in the West Loop and West Town neighborhoods. These five properties will collectively add 663 new units to Chicago’s rental market inventory.
Jackson Throop Place
- 1241-1245 W Jackson
- 93 Units
- February 2016
Jackson Throop Place is the latest development by Michigan Avenue Real Estate Group. This developer consistently focuses on building boutique condo-quality apartments with a strong emphasis on layout and finish level. Each unit features private outdoor space and all units have recessed overhead lighting, solid bamboo flooring, all wood custom cabinets and quartz countertops. Two bedroom units will start at $2500 including parking.
Madison Throop Place
- 1247-1249 W Madison
- 72 Units
- March 2016
Madison Throop Place will be a similar option to its sister building on Jackson; however, the location at Madison & Throop offers even closer access to many of the best shops, restaurants and bars in the West Loop. Available in March, the two bedroom apartments are expected to price around $3000 including an assigned parking spot.
Luxe on Madison II
- 1224 W Madison
- 44 Units
- February 2016
Luxe on Madison II is the second phase of a project just west of Racine on Madison. Updated apartment finishes include quartz countertops, custom backsplash and solid plank flooring. The property will get a new screening room, expanded fitness center and community lounge. A majority of the building is studio and one bedroom units, in line with many newer West Loop offerings.
Lake and Halsted
- 171 N Halsted
- 227 Units
- August 2016
Quickly rising at the corner of Lake and Halsted, this development will feature all of the newest luxury amenities and finishes expected in a new West Loop luxury apartment building. Developers Shapack Partners, Focus Development and Atlantic Realty Partners are seeking LEED silver certification for this property, which will feature many green elements. With the closest location to the increasingly popular Randolph Street restaurants, Lake and Halsted will attract those looking to live, work and dine in the West Loop.
Kenect Chicago
- 500 N Milwaukee
- 227 Units
- September 2016
With a prominent location at the intersection of Halsted, Milwaukee and Grand Avenue, developers Akara Partners and CA Ventures’ Kenect Chicago will deliver at just the right time. Near the end of the “Hipster Highway” along Milwaukee Avenue, this development is focused on attracting a tenant who values community and connectivity. Boasting 1 gigabyte dedicated internet service for all residents and a wide variety of common space amenities, Kenect will be a great second half 2016 option for many Chicago renters.
