When clients contact us to find a downtown Chicago apartment, they’ll often request to see properties with a fitness center or pool. They’re usually just looking for a treadmill when the weather is bad, or a pool deck to host friends when the weather is great. However, the amenities offered in downtown Chicago apartments today never fail to surpass their expectations. From golf simulators to movie theaters, every luxury high-rise built recently in downtown Chicago has been competing to have the best amenities in the city. It may not be possible to call a clear winner quite yet, but here are a few of our top picks:

North Water Apartments

The rooftop sky lounge and terrace at the top of North Water Apartments provide expansive views of Lake Michigan and Navy Pier. A lower west-facing sundeck with a pool offers unobstructed sun and gorgeous city skyline views. In addition to the views, these Streeterville apartments also come with a pet spa, fitness center with FreeMotion and Precor equipment, and a virtual workout studio.

73 East Lake

There are so many amenities at 73 East Lake that they can’t all fit on one floor- they span three. The top floor includes an impressive lounge, terrace, and private dining room. Down on the 9th and 10th floors, residents can watch a movie in the theater, hold a video meeting in a conference room, entertain friends in the chef’s kitchen, or study in the cyber cafe. The Loop property is also home to one of Chicago’s most beautiful indoor spas with a pool, jacuzzi, steam, and sauna.

OneEleven

The bi-level pool deck at 111 W. Wacker has spaces for everyone, from private outdoor kitchens with sinks and grills to lounge seating and fire pits; the indoor pool opens up onto the lower level with plenty of chairs for sunbathing. OneEleven’s amenity floor also offers a state-of-the-art fitness center, screening room, billiards lounge, and tech bar.

Wolf Point West

River North’s newest apartment property has officially opened its doors, although the property will not be totally complete until April. Tour currently showcase the riverside lounge, business center, golf simulator, and dog amenities. When the top floor is finished, it’ll feature a sky lounge, fitness center, and sky deck with outdoor kitchens, TVs, fire pit and lounge seating.

MILA

Set to open this spring, MILA will have 30,000 square feet of amenities, from the sky lounge with catering kitchen to the fitness center with yoga studio and Fitness-On-Demand. The urban garden and deck will offer grill stations, bocce ball court, fire pits, herb garden, and outdoor televisions.  MILA’s most impressive amenity may be the level of service promised for residents, with valet parking, maid service, on-site concierge, package receiving with cold food storage, and 24/7 room service.
