Vesta Lofts Wins 2014 C.A.R. Good Neighbor Award
Vesta Lofts (125 East 21st Street) has won a Chicago Association of REALTORS® 2014 Good Neighbor Award for its achievement in enhancing the Chicago region as a great place to live and thrive.
Good Neighbor Awards showcase groundbreaking new and newly rehabbed or redeveloped properties in the Chicago metropolitan region that have increased economic vibrancy in their neighborhoods and bolstered local pride. Volunteer judges representing the real estate industry visit each property to help select the winners. Winners are selected based on quality construction, service to a special population, care to complement the surrounding neighborhood, market value and architectural significance.
“Good Neighbor Awards demonstrate how real estate works to build stronger, vibrant communities,” said REALTOR® Matt Farrell, president of the Chicago Association of REALTORS® and managing partner at Urban Real Estate. “This is one of our association’s most important programs because it recognizes properties that exemplify how real estate can positively impact neighborhoods by fulfilling a need, helping the economy and boosting civic pride.”
Vesta Lofts received a 2014 Good Neighbor Award winner in the Residential/Mulit-Unit Renovation category.
Vesta Lofts was originally completed in 1913 and operated as the Vesta Accumulator Company. Prior to renovation, the property was an office building in disrepair. JK Equities purchased the property in 2010. Chicago firm FitzGerald Associates Architects redesigned the building as 59 luxury loft rentals. The renovation maintained historic elements including original brick, beams and oversized windows. Building features include a rooftop deck and fitness room. The building was named to the National Register of Historic Places. The building opened for occupancy in August 2013, building momentum for the revitalization of the South Loop Motor Row neighborhood.
Vesta Lofts is exclusively marketed and leased by Luxury Living Chicago Realty. The property is currently 99% leased.
